Sunburst F5 with Buckeye inlay and curly back

The curl pattern is called micro curl and it is rare. The top is Carpathian spruce and the tone bars are Adirondack red spruce. The bridge and fretboard are ebony and the tuners Are waverlys with pearl buttons. The mandolin is fitted with a James tailpiece. The finish is Petes own system, which is a thin coat of lacquer over base coats of varnish. It is very light in weight and, although the mandolin needs to be played in a bit more, it has a killer throaty, responsive tone with a dry dark woody chop, clear trebles, and excellent volume.
